The aim of this unit is to review the development and application of Health Promotion strategies in challenging and controversial areas. This will include exploring significant issues in areas such as sexuality, sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, prisoners and indigenous communities, the role of health promotion as a change agent in these areas; effective and ineffective strategies; useful and harmful approaches; ethical and political considerations; community engagement and advocacy; and national and international issues, experiences and perspectives. -- Course Website
